"FREAK IT, But She's Hot"
Even heathens and pagans know this one:
A guy named Paul, a whole long time ago, found a scroll and a quill and, over a leisurely cup of red wine, asserted that "a woman's hair is her crowning glory."
For completely non-biblical reasons--who is this Paul to me, after all?--I've often believed that this assertion is true. I love the hair on The Ladies. Even in the midst of several years of sobbing that no one would ever love me, an enduring belief in the power of my hair often pulled me through. Loneliness was counterbalanced by my excitement over follicular sheen and gloss.
I'm all superficial that way.
So riddle me this:
If I love the locks, how can I be completely convinced that should fado singer Mariza ever grow out her hair, it would be an affront to humanity and the heavens?
Because seriously? She got it all goin' on. Hair? Would interfere with her beauty, charisma, and dynamism.
Suck hair.
Who needs it?

True. But girl, we got red. Ginger. Strawberry blonde. Our locks rock.

Yeah, that's, uh, why I don't have any hair. That charisma thing.
I would so stalk you-- if you lived closer.
and I wasn't so lazy.
she's hot, but you know, so what. you are divine.
It is because you know her locks would be nowhere as glorious as your own.
I don't know. I used to think that about Halle Berry, but she looks just as good with the long locks. Then there's Annie Lennox. She has the power shorty going on. But he was right. There IS power in a woman's hair.
I get more looks now with my short, short hair than ever - there's something so very feminine about it, and there's no hiding - your face is completely on show. I love short hair. Hurrah!
Puss
She looks great, but I like your hair so much better. I have always wanted just that: long, thick, luxurious red hair. Unfortunately, my hair won't cooperate. :(
I must be the only woman in the world who finds her hair annoying. If it were stylish to go bald (and wouldn't prompt the ohmygod she has cancer looks) I'd shave my head in a minute.
I ain't got no hair power.
Yeah, meh. My hair? Not so awesome.
You, however, are SO fortunate with all your lovely hair! Got enough to share around a bit?
OH, I love how she sings so effortlessly.... her lips part and out issues the voice of angels.
Still, her hair ain't got nuthin' on you lovely locks, lady!
You're right about the hair thing. It depends on the beholder.
she looks like a Jetson to me
Two words. Two. Grace Jones.
I think it's the way she has her hair short that makes her look so exotic. Or whatever you may call it.
Your too funny. Personally I couldn't do the same look as her that and the hubby wouldn't go for it...nope not one minute! He hates it when I cut my hair at all notice the long hair in my last post from when we were dating...he likes it at least that long.
If you don't have talent, that's when you NEED your hair to keep you alive. It'll keep you warm on those night that you might need to sleep on park benches.
Hehe.
there are some women who really do carry the shorn woman look with great aplomb but i will stick with the wild drugged out hippy look myself.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder: Long hair, short hair, no hair. Some women look good no matter what the length.
You know, I took a long while to come to peace with my hair. Now I love it and of course, just in time to be going grey and such.
She does look great and I think you are right, longer hair would be less for her, not more.
I wish I had the guts to do that.
I actually have good hair. It's naturally curly and women are always threatening to shave it off and steal it. But I straighten it most of the time and do the Farrah thing. It's good to have variety.
Paul McCartney used a twill and scroll to write Beatles songs???
cool:)

Good bone structure goes a long way towards beautiful. This lady would look fabo with no hair.
btw - I used to hate my thick curly hair, but now that I'm just on the tiny side of old, I love it. Why? Because I'm thin on top and the curliness hides it well.
That woman has a beautifully-shaped head. I'd love to know that I'd look that marvellous with short, short hair.
Although I DO sometimes wear a red pixie-cut wig and I've gotten lots of compliments on it. Makes me look like some sort of elf.
By the way, I will ditto the comments on YOUR gorgeous hair Jocelyn! :)
Her face is striking, but her hair looks like it is more product than actual strands... very unnatural.
i tried really short hair once. people kept askin if i had cancer. just doesn't work for everyone, so the ones who can, should!
she is amazing and so are you. I cut my hair a few months ago after having LOONG hair for six years. I like it, it's easy that's the best part.
I need hair. Bad.
